Savannah:

Open – She invites John into her family’s house even if she didn’t knew him.
Curious – She’s asking about him a lot, trying to figure him out.
Past – She is asking John about him and all that stuff, but maybe it’s to try to forget herself. John asked her one time if she didn’t have any bad sides herself, and she answered a lot, but she didn’t get any further into it.
John:
Nervous – He gets nervous when he meets Savannah, for example his surfboard hits the bridge; plus he is almost about to fall when he asks Savannah to get a dinner the next day.
Past - He has a past he is trying to forget. When Savannah asks him what his past was, he is changing subject. John tells Savannah that once he was into a knife fight. The way he fights show that it isn’t the first time.
John’s father:

John – He has a little issue with his son. He once had a good relationship with John, but then his wife died, or else it was because John didn’t have the hobby with the coins any more.
Savannah – When Savannah comes into his life, he feels special in kind of a way, and that something good came in to his life. He even finds a plate, a special plate just for her. I think it may be the plate his earlier wife used.

My own opinion: I’m not into all of those love movies, so I guess that I think it suck. It is all about love, and sickness, and that is not a very good cocktail. So I would not recommend to anyone.

Biography of Channing Tatum (John Tyree)

His full name is Channing Matthew Tatum. Channing is born the 26 april 1980 in Cullmann, Alabama. He is 31 years old and he has short, brown hair and his body shape is normal. Also he is an American actor and a film producer. He has performed in different movies for example: She´s the man (2006), Step up (2006), Fighting(2009) and Dear John (2010). Channing is married to Jenna Dewan they got married the 11 July 2009.

Characterization.

In the movie “Dear John” he played a young man called John. John is a soldier but he came home and found a girlfriend called Savannah (Amanda Seyfried). He is playing a kind of tough role in the movie. Because sometimes he perform with a cool personality For exsample when he had to say goodbye to his dad, who is autistic, he doesn´t even give him a hug, he just shake hands with the dad. But when he is together with Savannah he shows that he also could be a warm and loving guy. I think that John is a guy who dosen´t like to show his feelings.

My opinion about the movie “ Dear John”

I liked the movie, it was a sweet love movie about a young couple who couldn´t be together because he has to go to war. But they keep in touch with a lot of letters. There are also a good variety between exciting scenes and romantic scenes. For example when John comes home and he finds out that Savannah has got a husband while he was away, that is one of the bad ones . Because you think that when he comes home everything will be just fine and they will live happily ever after, but then you got that chock. A very romantic scene is when they met each other on the beach. That kind of movie is just what I like.  

Movie review of Dear John

This love movie is about two young people, they meet in a funny way, and they are two opposites.
It’s a very sweet movie if you like love stories, with a little drama. A little short summary
Savannah and John’s first meeting is on a pier at the beach. Savannah drops her bag in the water, John jump into the sea and gets it. And that’s where the love begins. There is just one problem, John is in the Army special forces, and he has to go back after a few weeks. But in the time they are together they fall in love. When Jon goes back, they make an appointment, they have to write letters and tell everything.
They write a lot of letters and they are still in love.
But the time goes by and when John is send out again, Savannah falls in love with another guy called Tim.
What happens next you can go to the cinema, and watch at the worldwide premiere.
I really like love stories so this movie is really good, with a little action.
Like in many love movies there are moments with laughter and moments with tears.

I give these movie four out of five stars. It’s an amazing movie.

In my opinion I think it’s a very good movie. I like the end, you don’t exactly know how it ends, because the last thing you see is, when Savannah sits in the café, and John stands outside. You don’t know what happens after that. But we all got a feeling about what is going to happen, for example did Savannah wait for John? Or were they supposed to meet each other in the café? I think it was mean when Savannah got married with Tim, and she only wrote a letter to John. I think that she should have tried to call him and explained it. She owed him more than just a letter. I don’t think it would have been less painful, but in my opinion it had been the right thing to do. I think that the only reason that Savannah and Tim got married was to make sure that Alan always had someone to take care of him. I don’t think that’s an okay reason for getting married. I don’t think Savannah loves Tim like she loves John. If I was in the same situation I don’t think I would have done the same as Savannah.

This movie is about a man named John Tyree and a girl named Savannah Curtis, two different persons.  John is a young soldier and Savannah is a young student.  John is on leave for a couple of weeks, and he lives with his father in a small town, in this town lives Savannah, and they fall in love.  Suddenly John has to go back to the Army for a year, and they try to keep the contact by writing letters to each other. John promise Savannah that he wound´ t extend his contract, and come home to her for a weekend, but he has to go back because the situation had changed. Savannah reacts very violently, but John leaves anyway.

In the airport John says goodbye to Savannah and his father, and flies away. They still write letters, but suddenly Savannah doesn’t answer for a long time, John is worried, but receives a letter, a break up letter, Savannah had found someone else, John is heartbroken and burnsall of her letters. On a mission John gets shot and lies in the hospital for a long time.  He wants to go back, but one of the others tells him that he has to go home, his father is very sick. On the hospital he read a letter for his father, a letter about his thoughts in the moment he got shot. A short time later John’s father dies. John is alone, and he wants to see Savannah again, so he drives to her place and finds her. She had married a guy called Tim, a guy John talked a lot with at one time. He has cancer, and will die, Savannah only married him so his son Allan wasn´t alone. John stays for a while, but when he leaves, he doesn’t say what he used to say, he just says Goodbye Savannah.

Dear John is a romantic drama film from 2010. The film is about a guy named John and a girl named Savannah. John is in the army and is only home for the summer to visit his dad who is an autistic. One day he met Savannah at the beach were he picked up her purse from the water. She thanked him and they started talking. After some days and a couple of dates they fell in love. The time pasted quickly by and John had to go back to the army to serve his country. The distance didn’t change their feelings for each other, so they kept in touch by writing letters to each other. In that way they’ll always be with each other without actually being with each other physically.

At the end of the film Savannah chooses to leave John, so she wrote him a letter to tell him the bad news. The reason why she left John was that she had decided to marry her old friend, Tim who was very sick so he needed her to help him with his boy, Allan. Allan is an autistic so he really needed one who could take care of him if his dad died like his mother did many years ago. Her choice really hurt John but the pain was mutual she really loved John and was still in love with him, but she felt it was the right thing to marry Tim. A short time after that, Johns’ dad got really sick so John went home. A few days later his dad died, which was very hard for John. John visited Savannah where they talked a lot about what had happened. Right before John left Savannah said “see you soon then” but all John said was “goodbye, Savannah” before he walked out the door.

The last thing we see in the film is, that John passes a café where Savannah sits and they got eye contact.

The ending of the film gives us something to think about. What is going to happen? Is he just going to pretend he didn’t see her or is he going inside to her?

I personally think the film is brilliant. Among all the films I have seen, it’s undoubtedly one of the best.

  Dear John  An amazing movie!

I really enjoyed watching “Dear John”, because it was so dramatic. I was so close to cry, when John got the letter from Savannah, where she told him she is going to marry someone else. I felt so sorry for John, he was the perfect man, and then she just married someone else. Savannah made a big mistake right there. I think she should have called John, or at least talked with him. But as she says in the end: If she just had heard his voice she would have change her mind. I still think she was wrong by sending that letter to John. I also think it was bad, that John and Savannah didn’t end together and got married. 

I think Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried are great actors.   

“Dear John” is a movie, that is sad and exiting. Through the whole movie, I waited for the moment where Savannah and John would find out, that they wanted each other forever. Their love is so clear, but they are so unhappy when they’re not together. Wouldn’t it be better if they found out, what they wanted in stead of doing the hardest thing for themselves?  

If I was supposed to make a continuation I would bring John and Savannah together. They would get married and get a happy life.  

Amanda Seyfried who plays Savannah in the movie, has acted in a lot of movies. For example Mamma Mia, where she plays Sophie. 

In all I think “Dear John” is fantastic and funny. That’s just my opinion.  

Dear John

Special Forces Army Sergeant John Tyree is home on a two-week leave from Germany. He meets Savannah Curtis after he dives into the ocean to retrieve Savannah's purse that had fallen off the pier. John is smitten by Savannah and falls in love at first sight. Savannah is a college student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is on spring break and is helping to build a house for Habitat for Humanity. John joins in with Savannah to help build the house. Along the way a budding romance occurs, and Savannah falls deeply in love with John. As she is about to go back to college, she promises to write John overseas during the next 12-months until he returns to her after completing his enlistment. Their love is put to the test when John reenlists after the 9/11 attack.

Dear John.

I’m not the romantic type, so Dear John wasn’t quite my type of movie. But well, it was ok! I wasn’t bored, so maybe that’s a good thing?

The movie had a good storyline. Maybe that’s why I wasn’t bored. Usually I’m falling asleep when there’s a romantic movie in the television. I think it’s because I’m a boy, usually boys like action-movies, which isn’t a big surprise for anyone.

I thought the autistic part of the movie, with the little boy and John’s father was entertaining. I’m used to see those reactions. And I kinda felt sorry for John and his father. Their relationship must be really weird. 

Dear John 

John Tyree is a tall, young man from North Carolina, USA. He has green eyes and dark hair. He lives with his father when he isn’t serving as a Sergeant in the Special Forces.  He is a goodhearted person that however seems to have a very dark past. His old father, being an autistic, is a very asocial and quiet person, which may have had an influence on John’s way of being and acting. 

In John’s past he had done some things that were very wrong of him and people he meets seems to be scared or harsh on him. However, at this point in the movie, he has changed, whether it’s the army’s doing or something else. The things he has done has left him scared and weakened in his soul. 

John is madly in love with Savannah, a blue-eyed blond girl, who’s from the same place as he is, and he’s ready to take a bullet for her if necessary. The true power love. 

In the movie John goes through a lot of changes, which makes him see things in a new way and gives him a new opportunity of life. However, time can be devastating and cruel. 

"Dear John" is a fairly decent movie. The plot obviously includs two people in love, since it is a romantic film. I didn’t have any expectations for the movie at all so I wasn’t hoping for anything particular.
I don’t think much of the movie - I think it is easy to follow and not hard to understand. Overall I like the movie although it is not anything special either. It is not the type of film that I usually watch. This film has a similar storyline to the other films of the same genre which makes it repetitive and dull at some points. The story is still touching and sweet. I think that the actors play their role very well and the acting is very good and well played out. It seems to me as if the movie ends a bit too suddenly and there is not enough closure at the end. At times the movie is a bit sad and even depressing but it also has plenty of happy and joyful moments.
I would recommend this movie to almost everyone who enjoys good movies. It’s rather good and definitely worth watching if you have some free time on your hands.
