I watched a film "Dear John", which came out in 2010. In this film the main actors are Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried, who play two lovers, separated by war and facing great issues.
Shortly, the film talks about John and Savannah who meet by accident and immediately fall in love. They spend two wonderful weeks together, but it all comes to an end when John has to leave on duty to the military. They decide to exchange letters to each other while John is away. After a while they start having issues with their long-distance relationship. John has to stay away longer than expected and Savannah starts having problems in her home town. Suddenly the letters stop coming. John then recives a "Dear John" letter informing him about the fact that Savannah is engaged to another man, because their relationship with John didn't seem to work out. When John finally arrives home, he finds out that his father is in hospital. John becomes sad and depressed. On top of everything, John meets Savannah and discovers that she is married to his friend Tim. He also finds out that Tim has cancer and needs extensive care. After a couple of years John and Savannah accidentally meet again. By then, Tim is already dead and his autistic son has grown up, not needing Savannah's care. Nothing can interfere with their love now and they can live together happily ever after.
This is a very lovely and romantic film, which talks about true love, the complications of being in a relationship and life's difficulties. I really like these actors and I enjoyed watching this film. There are enough romantic moments and interesting subject matter, which makes the plot very interesting for me. However, I would say that the film ended too suddenly. The ending was unclear and too much was left to be answered. I would have really liked to know what happened to John and Savannah after they met again at the end of the movie and I think it would have made the film much more enjoyable. At times this film was a bit too sad for me. It was so depressing when John and Savannah met again and Savannah was married to Tim. Everyone knew that John and Savannah were made for each other, but they still couldn't be together. At the end of the film I cried.
I would recommend Dear John to everyone who enjoy romantic dramas, because it is a really cute love story with great actors and an interesting plot. All of my female friends who have seen this film also love it, but I think men would also find it interesting.
