The movie we decided to watch together was „Dear John". The movie is all about love. It is a romantic drama about two people who fall in love.
John is a soldier and he falls in love with a college student Savannah Curtis. John and Savannah meet in John's hometown, while the girl is visiting the town. They start to hang out together and they fall in love. Unfortunately, John has to leave home and he won't be around for a long period of time. He is not the only one to leave. Savannah has to go back to college, so they are going to be separated for a while. Even though they can't be together, they still love each other and they start exchanging letters. They do it frequently. But everything changes after 9/11. John re-signs on duty and it makes Savannah desperate. She can't stand being alone, so she stops sending letters to John. Then John gets the sad news: his father has died. He goes home immediately and discovers that Savannah has got married. He is surprised to see that her husband is the person who told John not to hurt Savannah. He's much older than she is, but the girl, as she says, married him because he needed someone beside him to take care of his son. John goes back to serve his country and Savannah stays in the USA. When he comes back, they meet and they discover that their feelings haven't changed.
The movie is kind of bittersweet. The saddest part is when John's father dies, but the happiest part is when they meet again. I like the movie and I also voted for it, so I am pretty happy to write about „Dear John".
