Group 8

The play takes place in the 19th century in England in Canterbury (a small town in England). The main characters are Elizabeth and Christian, supporting characters are Sarah and Charles. The genre of this play is drama. It has a happy ending for the main two characters.
Elizabeth is a noblewoman who is engaged to a poor man named Charles, who is with her only because for the money. One day she finds out that her fiancé is cheating on her. She can't break up the engagement because it would bring shame to her, she also can't prove the existence of the affair. So, she takes the other option and tries to make the marriage work. She asks for advice from a man (Christian), who happens to be engaged to a lower-class, poor woman, who is with him only because of the money. The man who is also known for being a Casanova agrees to teach Elizabeth how to seduce her fiancé and make the marriage work. During the teaching they fall in love. When Christian (the teacher) finds out that Elizabeth's fiance was cheating on her with his fiance, he wants to kill him. Elizabeth calms him down and together they come up with a plan how to reveal their fiances. They succeed and Charles is forced to flee to America. After the scene Sarah, the lower class woman is never seen again. At the end Elizabeth and Christian get married.
